How search works in the admin panel

Mark a field as searchable and a search box appears on that model's list. Text fields match partially with LIKE (ILIKE on PostgreSQL), while other fields are cast to their type and matched exactly. It all runs as ActiveRecord queries against your own database, with no search server to run.

Global search in the navigation looks across every repository with searchable fields and shows up to five results from each. When the defaults aren't enough, pass a lambda to searchable and return your own ActiveRecord query, for example to find employees by the name of their company.
